Cassandra
Hsiao

playwright. poet. screenwriter.

A 626 Los Angeles native, Cassandra Hsiao is a writer and daughter of Malaysian-Chinese & Taiwanese immigrant parents. She received her B.A. from Yale University in Theater & Performance Studies and Ethnicity, Race & Migration. Her plays have been recognized, published, and produced across the country (and now in Taiwan). Her poetry has been published by national and international lit magazines and organizations.

She completed a selective writing-intensive Artist Residency at Treasure Hill Artist Village in Taipei, Taiwan, and will be a part of the AIR Program at Grünewald Guild in the Washington Cascades later this year.

 

She thrives in writing stories that disrupt the norms of time, genre, or societal expectations.
